Big Mamma Group to open Carlotta in Marylebone Village
Big Mamma Group to open new restaurant Carlotta in the heart of Marylebone Village.
Carlotta, a new 150-cover trattoria, will open on Marylebone High Street and looks to offer a more relaxed setting compared to the ever-expanding restaurant group’s hero spots Gloria, Circolo Popolare, Jacuzzi and Ave Mario - tapping into the village feel at its new Marylebone location.
Set to deliver a more intimate take on the heart of Italian cuisine, this Neapolitan maestro will have you gathered round the table, famiglia-style, with a new menu exploring traditional Neapolitan and Sicilian classics whilst bringing an Americano twist to the Italo.
Head to the dazzling Venetian marble bar for pre-dinner cocktails, or find yourself in the long skylit dining room designed with golden drapes, mirrors, and leather furnishings. If you’re after another vibe, opt to relax on the ruby red terrace or head downstairs to the 80s midnight blue velvet paradise – Chef Armando will be waiting for you in the open kitchen.
Originally from the eastern part of Napoli between the sea and the hills, Chef Armando’s recipes are inspired by his Nonna who used to run a small trattoria in the 50s, and had a love for retro sauces, seafood, and most of all, barbeque. For the first time at a Big Mamma restaurant, the Carlotta menu includes a fiery grill section using the finest beef and lamb from renowned butchers Philip Warren.
Highlight dishes to make a note of before entering the doors of the intimate trattoria, includes a delicate rose veal tartare, tempura shrimp cocktail, penne alla vodka with Cornish crab, and delicate lamb arrosticini skewers (a speciality from Abruzzo). For sweet tooths, the dessert menu will continue to be wow-factor and even includes a giant ten-tiered chocolate fudge cake! For serious drinkers, peruse Carlotta’s drinks list of the finest whiskeys, classic cocktails like whiskey sours and martinis, sparkling Italian wines and intense red Italian vintages.
Carlotta will open mid-May 2023 on 77-78 Marylebone High Street, W1U 5JX.
